How to Install iOS 26 — A Complete Guide for Public, Beta & Developer Versions
Apple has officially unveiled iOS 26 during WWDC25, and as always, excitement is sky-high. While the final public release is expected in September 2025, there are ways to try it out early — through Public Beta and Developer Beta programs.
Whether you want to get early access or just want to be ready when the full version drops, here’s everything you need to know about installing iOS 26 safely.
📱 How to Install iOS 26 (When It’s Publicly Released)
Once Apple releases iOS 26 to everyone this September, installing it is simple:
Open Settings
Tap General
Tap Software Update
Tap Automatic Updates to ensure you receive updates as soon as they’re available
You’ll get a notification when iOS 26 is ready for your device — just tap Download and Install.
🧪 Want to Try the Public Beta?
Apple usually releases the Public Beta about a month after WWDC. That means you can expect it by July 2025. Public Betas give you early access with fewer bugs than the Developer version.
Here’s how to install the iOS 26 Public Beta:
Go to Settings
Tap General
Tap Software Update
Tap Beta Updates
Select iOS 26 Public Beta
✅ Public Beta is generally more stable than the Developer Beta, but still might contain occasional bugs. Only install it if you're okay with minor glitches.
👨💻 Thinking of Installing the Developer Beta?
The Developer Beta is available immediately after WWDC for Apple Developer Program members. However, it’s mainly for developers testing app compatibility — and it's often buggy.

⚠️ Warning: Developer Betas are not stable. I do not recommend installing it on your main device unless you're a developer or very experienced.
